Survey: News choices among Chinese diaspora

Are you a Chinese citizen, aged 18 or over, and currently living in Europe?

We invite you to take part in a research survey about the media use and everyday experiences of Chinese migrants living in Europe.

Your perspective matters. This study explores how people use digital platforms, news sources, and social media in daily life—including Chinese-language platforms such as WeChat, Xiaohongshu (Little Red Book), and DOLC.de, as well as European and international sources such as local news, YouTube, and other social-media platforms.

We are interested in how you find, assess, and compare information about:

  • China and Europe
  • Politics and democracy
  • Identity and belonging
  • Everyday life

In particular, the research examines how language, familiarity with platforms, personal networks, and experiences of living in Europe may influence media choices and perceptions of credibility.

There are no right or wrong answers. The study does not assume that any media source is more trustworthy than another. We are interested in your individual experiences, views, and media practices—whether you mainly use Chinese-language, European, international, or other sources.
